What a busy time of year!
ByIsn’t summer supposed to be the time when things slow down? Aren’t we supposed to be able to just take it easy and lie next to the pool? I wish!
We’ve been keeping really busy this summer. Softball has kept us really busy. Thankfully there are only two more weeks after this week. The week after next is our National tournament and we are pretty excited about that. Hopefully we’ll do really well there!
We’ve also been keeping busy by going to basketball games, soccer games, and baseball games that the kids’ friends are playing in. That’s been a lot of fun for them.
Our town has a movie theater that has been running kids movies for free 3 days a week so we’ve gone to the movies almost every week for the last month or so. That’s been fun – except for when all the moms and kids that don’t believe in discipline decided to go at the same time we were there. That wasn’t fun at all.
We’ve also gone to the lake, visited family that lives a little ways out of town, had our niece staying with us, had parties with our co-op families, and thankfully enough – we’ve been able to hang out in the pool.
I’ve got to start thinking about school though. I need to get the rest of our books ordered and I still have to write the syllabus for the class I’m teaching at co-op! I’m running out of time!
What about you? What have you guys been up to this summer?

Just enjoy it, because it’ll be September before you know it!!
We’ve been laying low this summer, for the most part. Hope you’re enjoying the busyness!
Summer? Slow down? As a still-recently-former kid I’m still of the mind that summer is when you speed up, do stuff, get out, razzle the parentals.
After all, it’s cold in the winter and so slowing down is an excellent thing to do then.
I suppose though, as I’m moving into the adult stage that I’ll start rueing my philosophy as my own children will no doubt be of a similar mind.
This summer has been rather busy beyond normal for me though, as I’m nearing the date of my marriage (three weeks from Saturday!!!!). Though it has been busier for my beloved as she has been at home preparing the whole thing.
Missy, I’m ready to join you in laying low.
Matthew, three more weeks – that’s awesome!! Preparing for that is a fun kind of busyness isn’t it.
I here yah. Summer is just as crazy.
Hey I have a question for you. The last few days have been a disaster going on errands with the kids and I am stressing about when we are homeschooling. What do you do for errands? Take them? Wait for hubby to come home? Any ideas (babysitter not an option for us).
Debbie
Well, my kids are old enough now that I can run errands and leave them at home. When they were younger I took them with me for some things but then other times I’d wait until my hubby was home so I could run out by myself. It kind of just depended on what the errand was. I don’t know if that helps at all – I hope so!
Hey MLBatH, haven’t seen you in a while. We’ve had a hectic last few days, Swing by my blog if you want the full story.
Hey! Hadn’t heard from you in a while and I wanted to say hi!
Hey, total and Mandy! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! I just haven’t had time (nor the desire really) to sit down and blog lately. It’s just been a bit crazy around here. I’m going to try to get back soon though. I have been checking e-mail (comments) though and trying to read everyone’s blogs when I have a minute. They’ve just been few and far between.
Another, chiming in to say that I’d love to read whatever you have to say, when you have the time to start blogging again.
let’s see.
moving.
and
having a baby.
that enough?
Sounds like I am not the only one missing you in the blog sphere. Hope your having fun. Look forward to seeing you back again.
Thanks for your comments, girls. It’s nice to know that I’m missed.
Life has just been so busy and honestly, I just haven’t had the time nor the desire to be blogging. I really haven’t read much and obviously haven’t written anything! haha! We’ll see what happens this fall. I may start up again soon! I hope you all are doing well! I do miss “hanging out” with those of you who I “talked” to a bunch!!
