I can't believe I'm doing this but…

By momlovesbeingathome

Okay, I never thought I was going to get into this YouTube thing but I was just over at Arms Wide Open‘s site and the other day I was on Mud Puppy‘s site and they both had videos of American Idol contestants which is one of only two shows that I watch regularly and I love it! (the other is Jeopardy! ) I love music and I love watching talented singers perform. Anyway, I was showing my daughter the video of Carrie Underwood (on AWO’s site) because ever since Carrie auditioned we have been huge fans of hers and my daughter was telling me that a lot of the American Idol stuff is on YouTube. Big surprise there that my teenage daughter knows this kind of stuff and I don’t! So, to continue along with the theme of these other bloggers I thought I’d share some of my favorites. If you only watch one, watch Jordin’s “I who have nothing.”

1. Carrie Underwood – Bless the Broken Road, Alone – which is on Arms Wide Open’s blog linked above

2. Clay Aiken – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Unchained Melody

3. Jordin Sparks – I Who Have Nothing & Broken Wing (this girl is only 17 years old!!!!)

4. Kelly Clarkson – Without You

5. Katharine McPhee – Somewhere Over the Rainbow

You could listen to pretty much any song that these artists performed and it would be good but these are the ones I remember as being my favorites.

Other contestants I liked over the years were: Kimberly Locke, Chris Daughtry, Gina Glocksen, Chris Sligh, Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey, Tamyra Gray, Christina Christian, Justin Guarini, Trenyce, Diana DeGarmo, and LaToya London. You can go to American Idol‘s website and click on contestants to find out about any contestant as well as every song they sang on the show.
I think I’m hooked on YouTube now. UGH!!!

Ugh! That duet with Rascal Flats (from Columbus, Ohio by the way!!!) had to have come in a close second to “Alone”. Everything she did on her run to the final was awesome. Her version of MacAurthur Park happened to rock too.

    She’s great.

  2. Yeah, I had a hard time deciding what to put next to her name because everything she did was good. :) You were right though – Alone was awesome!! Did you see the song she sang on the Idol gives back show? It was a great song.
